LS ELECTRIC has joined hands with global industrial automation solutions provider Honeywell to co-develop power management solutions and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) for data centers in North America.

The two companies signed a Strategic Partnership Agreement for Co-development of Power Management, Distribution, and BESS Solutions on October 8 at the Data Centre World Asia (DCWA) event held at Marina Bay Sands Convention Center in Singapore.

The signing ceremony was attended by Kim Jong-woo, President and CEO of LS ELECTRIC, and Billal Hammoud, President of Honeywell’s Building Automation segment, along with other executives from both companies. Under this agreement, LS ELECTRIC and Honeywell will combine LS ELECTRIC’s expertise in power infrastructure and BESS with Honeywell’s strengths in building automation and control platforms to jointly develop an integrated power management solution for data centers and commercial & industrial (C&I) buildings.

As an initial step, the two companies will integrate Honeywell’s AI-based industrial automation platform with LS ELECTRIC’s power monitoring software to create a next-generation power management system targeting data centers in North America and other global markets. This system will intelligently manage power quality and predict maintenance timing to minimize downtime and ensure a stable power supply for data centers.

In addition, the companies will jointly develop a modular BESS aimed at the U.S. commercial and industrial building market. By combining LS ELECTRIC’s energy storage development capabilities with Honeywell’s energy control software, the system will analyze power grid data, weather information, and risk factors to predict optimal energy sources and costs. This will allow customers to achieve both energy cost reduction and improved power operation efficiency.

Currently, data centers consume 1–2% of the world’s total electricity production, and this figure is projected to rise to up to 20% by 2030. Through this partnership, LS ELECTRIC aims to strengthen its position as a reliable and intelligent power solution provider in the global data center and building automation markets, including the U.S.

Kim Jong-woo, President of LS ELECTRIC, stated,

“Leveraging our accumulated expertise in power infrastructure and energy storage systems, we are accelerating our expansion into the North American data center and C&I building markets. Through our collaboration with Honeywell, we aim to deliver differentiated solutions that enable big tech data centers and large building operators to achieve both energy efficiency and operational stability.”

Billal Hammoud, President of Honeywell Building Automation, added,

“This partnership marks a significant step forward in our collaboration with LS ELECTRIC. By combining the strengths of both companies, we will deliver forward-looking and innovative infrastructure solutions to the global data center and C&I markets.”
