LS ELECTRIC (LS Electric) has signed a contract for a power solution project necessary for power supply to a hyperscale AI data center in the United States, continuing its large-scale orders in this market.
On the 10th, LS ELECTRIC announced that it had signed a contract with a North American AI big tech company to supply high-voltage and low-voltage switchgear and transformers for AI data center power supply, amounting to approximately 132.9 billion KRW (USD 91.9 million).
This project involves supplying power equipment to an AI data center being built in Tennessee, USA. By April next year, LS ELECTRIC will supply switchgear and transformers for the electrical rooms and mechanical facilities dedicated to AI machine learning server rooms.
The client for this project is a company with which LS ELECTRIC previously signed a total of 310 billion KRW worth of power equipment supply contracts from the end of last year to early this year. LS ELECTRIC views this additional project as recognition of its execution capabilities for ongoing projects and hopes to maintain a continuous partnership.
A representative of LS ELECTRIC stated, "This contract is significant as it marks our first comprehensive supply of required power equipment, ranging from low to high voltage, for hyperscale data centers in the US, the center of AI investment worldwide." They added, "With numerous inquiries for long-term supply contracts from various customers in the North American region, where power supply planning is experiencing issues, rapid growth in the local distribution market is anticipated."
