■ Expanding portfolio from 115kV and 354kV to 525kV ... Reaffirmation of technological capability and customer trust

■ Intensifying the drive in high voltage market focused on data centers, renewable energy, and power utility markets

LS ELECTRIC is accelerating its market expansion in the data center business by leveraging its total solution capabilities that encompass transmission, substation, and distribution, and has secured the largest-ever high voltage transformer project in North America.

On the 26th, LS ELECTRIC announced that it has signed a contract to supply high voltage transformers worth 459.8 billion KRW (312.04 million USD) with a major investor-owned utility (IOU) in the United States.

Under this contract, LS ELECTRIC will supply high voltage transformers up to 525kV to a renewable energy plant, which will be a major power supplier for a large data center being developed in the southeastern region of the United States. The supply period is set from 2027 to 2029.

This order is the largest single high voltage transformer supply contract LS ELECTRIC has signed. It is significant as it expands the supply range from the previously focused 115kV and 354kV lines to 525kV. With an expanding reference in the transmission sector, recognized in the region as well as in distribution, the growth in the data center power infrastructure business is expected to gain momentum.

Notably, this project involves an existing customer who has experienced LS ELECTRIC's solutions ordering higher voltage products and significantly increasing the volume, which is seen as a reaffirmation of LS ELECTRIC's technological competitiveness and supply capabilities.

With this contract, LS ELECTRIC’s backlog of high voltage transformer orders has surpassed 2 trillion KRW. The total order backlog as of the third quarter stands at approximately 4.1 trillion KRW, with expectations for further increases in order reserves through the fourth quarter and into next year.

An LS ELECTRIC representative stated, "This order is evidence that a global energy infrastructure company has confirmed LS ELECTRIC's technological prowess and recognized us as a sustainable partner," adding, "We will accelerate business expansion, focusing on the North American hyperscale data center, renewable energy generation, and power utility markets to secure a leadership position in the North American high voltage market."
